Elderly HOME inverted meadowPRIVATE INTERIOR | 2014 | KABK
A house for grandparents dag into a hill, inside the Koekamp’s deer fence in The Hague. I was driven by the childhood landscapes of my client that made the house to become diffused to its ground. An assistance curtain divides the spaces, preserving the entire interior as flexible open plan. The house’s merging with nature is intensified by the organic shapes of the rocky walls, the warm wooden floor and aqueous rooftop. The assistance curtain's functionality was tested with 1:1 roof element together with Dutch elderly homes council. The gradient colored robes can support the person's weight and balance their movement. It is also fun and playful feature that can help in starting a conversation and laughing together. See video below of the ways to use this spatial element. |
